Part-Time School Resource Officer
The Fairmont Police Department is looking to fill a part-time School Resource Officer position. This position is assigned to Arise Academy located in Fairmont under a partnership with the Southern Plains Educational Cooperative. This position works a flexible dayshift schedule that the officer sets with Arise Academy and is expected to be between 20-30 hours per week, Monday through Friday during the school year. Candidates should seek the challenge of working in a school environment with students of various educational and social needs. We will continue to accept applications until the position is filled. Minimum qualifications include POST licensed or eligible to be licensed by October 1 of 2023. US citizenship or federally eligible to work in the US, two-year degree in criminal justice or related field, meet minimum selections standards as outlined by POST in MN 626.87 and 6700.0700.

Starting Compensation
Starting hourly wage: $26.86 per hour and flexible dayshift schedule.
There are currently 18 full-time licensed officers. The Fairmont Police Department also employs two, full-time licensed officers to work part-time hours to help fill shifts and special assignments. The department offers prospective candidates a wide variety of rewarding assignments and specialized positions.
