Fairmont Police Department added two full-time licensed peace officers to the force in August 2024. Officer Derek Hughes and Officer Shaylynn Anderson are both graduates of Martin County West. Officer Hughes recently served as FPD’s CSO/Cadet and upon graduation from college, was offered a full-time position as peace officer. Officer Anderson previously served as our summer intern and shortly after graduation from college, was offered a full-time position as peace officer.
