It is with great pride that on behalf of our officers and staff I welcome you to the Fairmont Police Department. Our webpage is designed to provide you with information about our department and the many programs and services we provide in our community. We are very proud to serve our community and the citizens of Fairmont.
The Fairmont Police Department provides service to the approximately 10,500 members of our community. Our department consists of 17 full time officers as well as two Records Technicians, and one Animal Control/Code Enforcement Officer. We recognize that our community partnerships with our citizens and the various groups and organizations in our community are essential to be effective in addressing concerns and issues in our community to keep Fairmont a safe and beautiful community to work and raise a family.
To say that I am proud of our officers and our community is an understatement. I have been a resident of Fairmont for almost 20 years and proudly call Fairmont my home. My wife was born in Fairmont and works at one of our local agricultural based businesses and our two daughters attend our excellent Fairmont Area Schools. Our officers have a vested interest in our community not just as city employees, but also as friends, neighbors, parents, and volunteers who work to make Fairmont an outstanding community for all of our citizens. Our officers and employees understand that FPD doesn’t just stand for Fairmont Police Department, but it also stands for the expectation of how we provide service in our community:
Fair, Professional, and Dedicated.
I thank you for visiting our webpage and your interest in the Fairmont Police Department. Please feel free to contact any of our officers with any questions or concerns in our community so we continue to work together to make Fairmont a great place for all.
Respectfully,
Michael Hunter
Chief of Police
