Fairmont Police Department is excited to host their annual "Fairmont Night Out" on August 6, 2024 at the Fairmont Aquatic Park. Free swimming will be offered from 5:00pm to 8:00pm along with a free community meal. Come and meet the newest members of FPD!
Officer Shannon Bass retires from FPD
Fairmont Police Officer, Shannon Bass retired from the Fairmont Police Department in May 2024. We congratulate Officer Bass on his successful career with FPD and serving the community. Officer Bass most recently served as the Fairmont Area Schools, School Resource Officer which was an excellent partnership between the City of Fairmont and our schools. Fairmont Police Department is accepting applications for a part-time CSO-Cadet. This position is for recent graduates, current college students or students who have been accepted into a Minnesota Peace Officer Educational Program. Good Neighbor Project
Fairmont Police Department encourages community members to donate their unused disposal coupons they are not going to use on their own property. FPD Assists with mock crash at FHS

Fairmont Police Department is excited to join area schools with the Adopt-A-Cop program. 2020 Shop with a Cop
Our annual Shop with a Cop event looked a little different in 2020 due to COVID restrictions. Although officers were unable to shop with children in the store, families were still provided with plenty of holiday cheer and presents! Fairmont Night Out
Fairmont Police Department hosts "Fairmont Night Out" on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Gomsrud Park. The event kicks off at 4:00PM with Cops and Bobbers presented by the Fairmont Police Officers Association. A complementary meal will be served at 6:00PM and a bean bag tournament between Fairmont Police and Fairmont Fire Department. Come join the fun and interact with Fairmont Police Officers. Buckle Up for a Buck!
Area Law Enforcement recently held an event titled "Buckle Up for a Buck" which rewards drivers for good behavior. Officers from Fairmont PD, Martin County Sheriff's Office, and Minnesota State Patrol stood in the drive thru at McDonald's and the parking lot of Hyvee Gas in Fairmont where they handed out $1 to driver's who were buckled along with traffic safety tips. Among the 180 drivers contacted, 20 were not wearing seat belts putting the short seat belt survey at approximately 88% use. Mayo Clinic Health System donated $200 toward the event which encourages seat belt usage. Thanks to South Central EMS, Minnesota Toward Zero Deaths, and the Martin County Safe Roads Coalition for hosting a great event in Fairmont! K9 Titus joins FPD
Sergeant James Tietje introduces K9 Titus, the newest member of Fairmont Police Department. Sgt. Tietje and K9 Titus trained for several weeks at the Minneapolis Police Department K9 Training Facility. K9 Titus is a 19 month old German Shepherd who was born in Germany. Responsible Beverage Server Training
Fairmont Police Department is offering a free Responsible Beverage Server Training open to all Martin County businesses. Two sessions will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 10:00am-noon and 7:00pm-9:00pm at the Red Rock Center located at 222 E. Blue Earth Avenue, Fairmont, MN 56031. City Seeks Crossing Guard
The City of Fairmont is seeking one additional crossing guard to ensure the safety of our children crossing streets around Fairmont Elementary School. Crossing guards work from 7:30-8:15am and 2:45-3:30pm each school day. Starting wage is $9.90 per hour with raises at the beginning of each school year. It is with great pride that on behalf of our officers and staff I welcome you to the Fairmont Police Department. Our webpage is designed to provide you with information about our department and the many programs and services we provide in our community. We are very proud to serve our community and the citizens of Fairmont. The Fairmont Police Department provides service to the approximately 10,500 members of our community. Our department consists of 17 full time officers as well as two Records Technicians, and one Animal Control/Code Enforcement Officer. We recognize that our community partnerships with our citizens and the various groups and organizations in our community are essential to be effective in addressing concerns and issues in our community to keep Fairmont a safe and beautiful community to work and raise a family.
